This may be Shiso. a very easy plant to grow, in fact, although it is an annual, it reseeds itself vigorously and will come up year after year. I grow both the green and red (sort of purple, actually) and both are delicious. I also grow Rau Ram which is also known as Vietnamese Coriander - it is a periennial but tastes just like cilantro and does not bolt in hot weather. It is easy to root, buy some in an Asian market put it in a vase of water on your window sill and after 3 days snap off the bottom segment which will now have roots, Plant the segment in vermiculite and in a couple of weeks you will have leaves and a plant you can pot up. It dies back in winter outside, but will grow nicely indoors. -- Andie Paysinger & the PENDRAGON Basenjis,Teafer,Cheesy,Singer & Player asenji@earthlink.net So. Calif.
