hi Tom, yep, the bulletin boards ARE old at the Bernardin site. i suspect that they're not updated due to corporate fears that some user will try one of the questionable recipes (offered by folks posting to that bulletin board) and then become ill or, uh ... die, and then try to sue Bernardin for hosting the offending BBoard. nonetheless, there ARE some good pages at that site for home canning; recipes, advice & general safety tips for food preservation. there are probably better sites out there, i just don't know them! here's a couple more canning spots: Mississippi State http://ext.msstate.edu/fce/foodsafety/fp.html another university site is http://ndsuext.nodak.edu/extnews/askext/canning.htm regards peter g
