Thanks to those who responded re. Key limes: you people like your limes, hey? I have been thinking of planting a lime tree. The varieties on offer in the local nurseries are Tahitian lime and Kaffir lime. My lime interest is mainly in Brazilian cooking (meats and fish are often 'temperados' in lime juice, salt and garlic before cooking), not to mention the noble 'Caipirinha' cocktail (crushed lime pieces, crushed ice, sugar and rum [preferably Brazilian cachaça]). I think the Tahitian is closest to the Brazilian lime, btu maybe I should plant both, since I'm very fond of Thai food (where Kaffir lime leaves are used). John Moore Melbourne Australia (where I just planted a habanero seedling from the nursery - against my better judgement; I've never had much luck with C. chinenses down here - but it was labelled as 'improved culinary selection', whatever that means)
