Hi Michele, I live in Versailles and work in Lexington so I know of a few places you can try. I like to find the out of the way places that serve authentic dishes and deliver the quality food and heat we live for. This list has a few of those along with some mainstream Mexican restaurants. Here are my recommendations: In Lexington Authentic * Rancho Grande * San Panchos * Durangos Mainstream (but still pretty good) * Jalapenos * Don Pablos * El Chico In Frankfort * Casa Fiesta * LaFiesta Grande In Versailles * Amigos (authentic) Have fun and good eating. -----Original Message----- From: michele curley [SMTP:mohawkturtle@earthlink.net] Sent: Wednesday, October 21, 1998 10:53 PM To: chile head digest (post) Subject: [CH] eats in lexington / versailles / frankfort well, as usual, i am on the road and always in search of good food .... i've learned not to expect a whole lot of good and hot cuz no one can make it as hot as i like it ..... it's damn hard 'nuf to find good sometimes i don't dare even think i can get it good *and* hot (i mean food, that is <s>) .... damn non chile wussies make life hell for an honest to goodness chile maiden jus tryin to get by in the world .... so now i be in lexington / versailles / frankfort lookin for some good grub .... i ate at the atomic cafe in lexingotn .... the jerk chicken was tasty 'nuf but the request for 'hot hot hot .... you can't make it hot 'nuf' was just lost on these folk .... sigh .... desert made up for it tho .... so, ifn any of you fellow chile heads have any recs for this area .... good food, hot food .... good and hot food .... any suggestions will be most welcome .... i don't care about atmosphere .... just good food .... jonathan was kind enough to send me some louisville recs which will come in handy when i head thataway this weekend .... tyia, michele curley
