Brothers & Sisters-
Falling right into this thread- today I had some of the best salsa I have
eaten in a LONG time...and like all the good stuff, oh so simple
Recipe:
1 can whole tomatoes (16 oz or so)
1 teaspoon chopped garlic
2 tablespoons ground chile tepins (gives a nice buzz, adjust as you see
fit)
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon oregano (mexican is better if you can get it)
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried cilantro
1/2 large onion chopped.
Dump into a blender and give it a whirl. Might reserve a small bit of onion
and add after blending.
Has a very good tepin flavor. El Grande sure had it going good when he made
those little devils.
the gabacho chile picker who will eat 3 batches of salsa today
