Greetings and Hallucinations, CHs I went out this morning to find a honey bee busily cross-pollenating my Bulgarian Carrot, Vietnamese Tearjerker (Thanks, Susan!) and Scotch Bonnets for me. The Bulgarian blooms on one particular plant are huge, about the size of a quarter. Previous year's blooms were much smaller (same seed source). I would appreciate knowing the largest blooms others on this list have seen, and how bloom size seems to be related to pod size. I know my wild pods are all small, with accordingly small blooms, and large bells (--yes, I grow them sometimes, Green, but I AM penitent--) usually have fairly large blooms. Still, even the bells, Joe Parkers and Big Jims I've grown in the past never had blooms like these Bulgarians. Maybe the seed company goofed. OR.....maybe I've stumbled onto another wierd hybrid accident ;-) (Picture the mad scientist, evil grin,.... low, gravelly chuckle,.... rubbing hands together with anticipation) The last accident I stumbled onto is making Aji Amarillo pods 6" long and over 1" in dia., and you can bet I've planted some of those seeds....
