I must say that I have been following the transplanting dialog , a
little tongue in cheek.
I farm my peppers in Hawaii and we start our seeds anytime we want (moon
phases taken into account, of course.) I start my seeds in 10 X 18
trays, ( about 30 - 40 plants per tray) and transplant when there about
4 to 6 inches tall. ( must have about 4 to 6 sets of leaves too....
Transplant to greenhouse about 1 month to 6 weeks later...
Growing...
Habs
Red Habs
Thai Dragon (main crop)
Hawaiian Chili's (Pequins)
Gypsy
Ortega
Sunsation
Antohi
North Star

Also grow herbs and gourmet tomatoes...

I will soon start Chocolate Habs, tepins (for next year) and peprocini.
Am interested in exotics of all types....

I plant in deep rich soil that was forested and volcanic once upon a
time... I need spread only a thin layer of compost every other year to
keep the soil balanced...
I grow organically, though not certified...

Aloha
and may you all be blessed with a green thumb...
Chris
