Scott, Spacing at about 20" seems to yield best results (shades the ground between plants, makes them compete a little, increasing yields). A root food in the planting hole a week or two before planting out can really boost yields (I use MiracleGro Bloom Booster [10-52-10]) An inch or so of water once a week should suffice. Subtract from the inch whatever rainfall you had. Side dress with a good general use fertilizer about 1/3 of the way into the season. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL - GET A SOIL TEST and make recommended amendments. Lord Byron will pH you. And be careful if you add lime. Don't make the garden look like the first base line. Gareth
