...In my opinion anyway. I found the thread to be interesting anyway because it concurs with our experience with the Red Savina. I field tested it for 2 years to consider it as a future seed we'd offer in our catalog. Both tests were disappointing in both heat and yields. Now that is a totally SUBJECTIVE opinion..but then again the Scoville Test is subjective as well. I think our Golden Habanero is hotter as well as the our Jamaican Hot Pepper. Also I agree with Byron that I'be had Brown Congos (Chocolate Habs) that have been hotter. I don't sell the Caribbean Red but I found that to be hotter as well. But heat isn't everything..I think flavor and yield are key as well. The Jamaican doesn't have that 'Habanero aftertaste' that sometimes can overpower a meal. Both the Jamaican and the Golden Habanero grow very large (between golf-ball and tennis ball size for the largest) and are extremely prolific. Although last year my Orange Habaneros were the most abundant with over 100 Orange Habs on each plant that matured here in the Mid-Atlantic. A more interesting question may be "What Hot Peppers have produced the most abundant crops"? And "Which Chile do you think is the Tastiest"? I'd love to hear your feedback here. You may find this interesting... I offered a free pack of 'Thai Sun' seeds in my newsletter for anyone who completed a survey. I sent out over 300 packs of seeds. Anyway, one of the questions was: What is most important to your about hot peppers. The choices were *Heat, *Flavor and *Abundant crop. The number 1 answer? 63% said flavor!
