Ron, et al, I am in Toronto where we have different brands than you. Maybe someone on the list could help more.... Mary-Anne? I don't know brands you would find in the US. Mary-Anne is familiar with all these ingredients. Ron is asking: "When a recipe calls for Lal Mirch, I generally grind some of our home grown cayenne. Is lal mirch appreciably different? Oh, one other question: I generally use Tamicon tamarind concentrate. Are you familiar with using the concentrate? If so, how much would you recommend using?" The tamarind we get here is called "paste". I have actually (dunh!) made my own the first time, since I didn't know that it was commercially available. THAT is not recommended, an evenings work for one ingredient LOL!! Linda
