Experience has shown that they do much better in partial shade. Can 
you place them so that they are shaded by a tree for at least the 
middle of the day?

See above. Other species of Capsicums are more tolerant of strong 
sunshine in my experience.

Simply keep them damp. They work very well in containers or large 
pots. (15-20l.) standing in trays. Always water from the top.

Feed them with very dilute tomato fertilizer every time you water 
until past midsummer, especially if your soil is poor.
