I don't believe it is used in making traditional curries. It smells like curry and have added it to rice and gives a faint curry taste but not strong enough for most dishes. There are a great many curry recipes that call for different ingredients for different dishes whether it meat or vegetables. The best ones are the ones you make yourself. Karen
