Hi! I have conflicting information about what sort of chilli bush
I have, and I'd like some expert help. I have been calling this
particular chilli Thai Dragon, but after looking at

http://www.chileplants.com/thaidragon.jpg

I am not so sure. Here are the clues:

 * this chilli is very common in Australia
 * it's very hot, much hotter than jalapeno and cayenne
 * fruit are held upright
 * plant is 3'-5' tall, though I think I have seen small ones
 * fruit are green through to red, no other colours
 * fruit are 1" long, 1/4" wide and very regular in size
 * fruit are invariably straight, no bends
 * fruit have a fairly pointy end, like cayenne rather than jalapeno
 * in Australia they are called birdseye

In my attempts to relate this plant to international nomenclature,
I looked at:

http://chileheads.netimages.com/gallery.html

The fruit look like the third Asian pepper, except for the bend, and
quite a lot like the first unknown pepper. I also looked at:

http://members.aol.com/ltmdterra/TTTnewpe.html

My fruit look nothing at all like the Thai Bird listed there, mine
are pointy and those are bulbous. Mine look like the Thai Dragons
on that page, only shorter. I suppose I could be dealing with a
serrano (#2080), but nobody has ever called them that, and mine
are maybe a bit pointier than those in the photo.

On http://www.chileplants.com, I have been enable to find a good
match. The Thai Dragons there hang down and are too long. The Thai
Hot Ornamental are not pointy enough, and there is nothing compact
about my plants.

I am offering seeds for this plant on the Chile-Swap web site:

http://www.geocities.com/chileswap/list.htm

but it would be best if I called it the right thing. Thanks for
any help.

John
