I read the handbook for a 'turbo-oven' on the weekend and they can be used for this purpose. They also make jerky. They are a bit cheaper than $250 and can be used for roasting etc but appear to be smaller than the pictures I have seen of dehydrators. Might be worth investigating. How did you go with Paddy's habs? I am currently working on instructions I received from Mr Flynn in NZ regarding oven drying.
