First I apologize for prolonging the off topic debate about beer. 
FWIW Mark McHugh is close in that in the UK and Eire:

There is no definitive black and tan. If you like Mackeson and 
Killian's together it is still a black and tan. (Although I would not 
drink anything from the Adolf Coors so-called "brewery".) Let that be 
an end to it.

The Digest is a mess. If you don't know how to cut and paste please 
do not post messages. If you do know how to cut and paste take a look 
at your submission before you hit the "send" key. If the quoted text 
is longer than your contribution you have some editing to do!
