I laughed at the wax pepper mixup story, the very same thing has happened to our family for years. Mom would grow her own salad ingredients, including some banana peppers, always mild, don't you know. So what if the wax peppers look identical? When we would pick peppers for the dinner salad, we learned to taste them before we chopped them in. Then we learned to taste _the top_ of the pepper, after many incidents of extremely hot salads. It was a trial by fire, and part of my early chile-head development. I have a row of wax peppers in one garden this year, little stumpy things, but each with its own heavy pod. I'll nip all those off and let the plants put out some structure. - A ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
