I had a fair amount of interest in the pepper based repellent products I posted about yesterday. There is a Web site listed in the article - www.medd4.com. It looks like this group owns the patent to the bonding process and is trying to market it. There is information on the site about the process and the research that was done. If someone is interested in repelling a certain type of pest they might be able to find out some information to see if capsaicin will affect whatever it is they are trying to get rid of. Then they might try some type of pepper extract spray. In fact I just had a thought. My father lives in Tucson, AZ and has real big problems with pack rats. Nothing he has tried, and he has tried just about everything, will stop them from nesting in cars and chewing up the wiring. Maybe hot pepper spray will work! Where do I get some Backdraft? And I have Maple Gall mites in my maples, maybe, just maybe..... The Chile Cheese Head, Dan McWilliams What a man needs in gardening is a cast-iron back, with a hinge in it.- Charles Dudley Warner
