I don't > see why you were told to keep them away from tomatoes, it makes no sense. We have a Purple tomatillo in a pot right next to potted tomatoes and chiles . All doing fine. The tomotillo's about 3' with very thick, strong limbs. I've used Epsom salts on it, about 1/4c/gal every 3 or 4 weeks. Got flowers all over. It's a 15" sq pot iirc and seems a bit small for it... I give 'em all a bit of fish emulsion fertilizer based fertilizer every now and then, 5-1-1. Think 5-5-5 would be better (per Bryon, I think). They're planted with a base of peat mixed with potting soil at the bottom, then potting soil, compost, vermiculite and maybe a bit of manure. Riley
