Don't have to do much; I haven't planted any in 4 years because I get enough coming up from the fallen fruit from the previous year. If you water them they do better, but they will produce anyway. They are big, sprawling plants. They even produce when it gets over 100F (I am technically in a desert here, no rain May-Sept most years, ave high temps 94 or so most of the summer, but lows around 60). Maybe they don't like humid climates as well; I don't have any experience there.
