This note makes me all that more anxious for the Hotluck in Kansas during August. Leaving now.... It was a great inaugural chili-fest. The second place winner of the CASI Chili cookoff simply could not get enough of our hot hot hot! curry; and the crowd, initially skeptical, was wowed by the habenero ice cream. Thanks to Craig for his hot nuts (you know who you are, wild man!) and fabulous poodle dogs. We scored some most excellent hot sauce, care of the Fire-Girl Inc., herself, and picked up more at Peggy's shop (Hot Pursuits) in the Kent Public Market. Check it out-- she's got great chili-pepper decor and assorted items. We were sipping hot sauce all the way from Kent back down to Portland, Oregon, Oh Yes! That on top of the habenero cheese balls, and various samplings of chili, from the lame (sorry, Kent Meat Market) to the sublime (yes, you are very, very good, Virginia Saloon) --Pam Kessinger
