I was out to survey the treasures today. Haven't had to water in weeks, it seems, with all the rain. I FINALLY have fingertip sized peppers and tomatoes starting. Yeah! I was checking out the Rocotos. They are really beautiful plants. Then I noticed that one has a lot of leaves missing. In fact, one plant in particular, has a lot of naked stems sticking out, even though the plant looks healthy otherwise. I looked a little closer and there was the biggest, greenest, Rocoto drunkened caterpillar I've ever seen. I picked him off with a paper towel and he just leaned back like he was asleep, full to the caterpillar gills with Rocoto leaves. He looked like one of those guys from the "Bugs Life" movie. He was too fat to smash so I flushed him. What else was I supposed to do? He should have just stepped away from the pepper plants. Michelle in KC
