Last year I had 2 HornWorms whose backs were covered with white
eggs. So thinking that I was wiping out future generations I          
squashed them.
Shortly afterwards I learned that the eggs on their backs, belonged to, what 
the book calls "Beneficial Wasps". These Wasps eat certain garden pests, 
hence the name Beneficial.
  So be careful what you squash!           vic
