I would like to apologise to the possum who lives over the back from me whom I have been accusing of ripping chillies from my bushes. I now have circumstantial evidence that it is in fact the ibises that stroll nonchalantly through the vege garden that have been ripping the cayennes off the bushes. I am not saying that possum is completely innocent, since it is unlikely that an ibis could take a bite out of an eggplant while it was still on the bush; but he is less guilty than I thought he might have been. Of course, the real bad guys are still the grasshoppers, and if the ibises would eat them I would consider the lost cayennes an investment. I just wish they would eat the whole thing...
