Hey all: Well, thanks to Big Tom, I am now an official card-carrying Chile head. Number 2124, to be exact. Thanks, Tom! My babies are starting to rear their pretty little heads above the seed raising mix. The seed leaves of the lilac cayenne have a beautiful lilac tinge. I thought they had green leaves. I can't wait for them to grow so I can see them! The habanero, guajillo and long slim cayenne have also sprouted and the mulato is pretty close. All the other seeds are still thinking about it. As I'm germinating them all at ambient temperatures and it's been overcast and showery the last few days (much like the summer some of you are having <g>), the poor babies are probably thinking it's much nicer in their nice warm seed coats. Despite that, gonna set a few more varieties out this weekend, unless we go skiing. But my possum-rescued plants couldn't be happier! They're merrily setting fruit, which appears to be growing a warp factor 9. The jalapenos and the habaneros especially are going to be full of lovely peppers come late spring.
