Coming up on my busy season here, so I'm afraid I'm going to be out of the loop for a bit (speed reading with the delete key). Time for State Fair and harvest and bottling and procesing and firehouse and little/no time for anything else. PLUS CaJohns is looking like he's going to give (hit?) me (with) another dozen or so recipes to produce for him. Looks like there is going to be a real crowd at the open fields! I've got RSVP's (both firm and maybe so's) from about 25 people so far :-) Hope there's enough chiles to go around! Returns have come from Canada to Alabama & from Kansas to Massachusettes. This could be a regular Woodstock kind of thing. Anybody got $50 to send to Rael for a bus ticket? ;-) I got TWO very nice postcards from Tony Flynn while he was doing his walkabout. It is a REAL shame that he can't make the open fields. Anybody got $1,500 for HIS ticket? :-) I've been told by a couple of people now that a lot of the hotels in the area for the open fields event are filling up due to goings on at IU that weekend. If you plan on staying in a hotel, rather than roughing it in the fields with the rest of us ;-) you might want to see about reservations. Towns that are within easy driving distance include Franklin (Lee's Inn, Quality Inn), Martinsville (Holiday Inn), and Indianapolis (anything you can think of). If you have difficulties, please let me know & I'll find a couch here in the house somewhere :-) Just got back today from Wash DC where my bro-in-law was sworn into his 3rd Star (US Army) in a neat ceremony at the Pentagon. Saw more stars on shoulders there than my last trip to the planetarium ;-) Good harvests to all & see most of you in Septemeber it seems :-) -Jim C Mild to Wild
