Well, I've finally found the limit of what a rocoto can take whether wise. I had one small plant out in the open, exposed with nothing to give some protection from frost (ie a wall, greenhouse, trees etc.). Couple of nights ago got a pretty heavy frost (settled by 8pm) getting dow to about -3 celcius overnight. The poor old rocoto could handle that and has passed on to greener fields. The others that have some protection are all powering on fine. Oh well - we live and learn. But on the positive side, planted seeds for this seasons crop over the weekend. On the heatbed are planted several types of habs, scotch bonnets, rocolittos (?), thai hots, bananas (sweet and hot varieties) (thanks Tara), mulatos, jalepenos, ajis with ring of fires and rocotos still to go. I've just got to work out where I'm going to put them all if/when they germinate!! Cheers for the cool climes Dale
