8 granny smith apples cored and sliced 1 Red Savina diced with or without seeds Some good thick sliced bread, I like rye Some butter Some peanut butter Some Brown sugar to taste Some good cheddar In a frying pan brown the apples in the butter and add the brown sugar and Habs. The sugar will melt but you don't want the apples to get mushy. spread a thin (realy thin just barely coat the surface) coat of peanut butter on the bread. Heap on the apple mixture 1/2" - 3/4" thick. put slices of cheddar on top, toast in toaster oven until cheese is good and melted. It's sweet, cheesy, nutty, and hot.......on toast! This receipe is mine, but the inspiration goes to my mother who was visiting and fried apples in a pan after I had sauteed some Habs in it (that's what happens when you use someone elses favorite good and black cast iron pan). My mother does not, at all, like anything spicy! She will usually eat the apples on bread, It's good! But with the spicy batch all to my self I started playing around and this was the result.
