Well, I agree that removing membranes is a little on the wussy side.  But 
since seeds contain almost no heat at all (and seem hot only because they 
generally have a speck of membrane still attached), and have little to no 
nutrient value, I think it's a bit presumptuous to call us seed savers 
"wusses."
I recall a recipe posted recently that called for retaining the seeds 
"because that's where all the heat is..."  It seems this misinformation has a 
life of its own, no matter how many times Dave Anderson and others (including 
heat illustrations in grocery stores) attempt to set the facts straight.
Seeds do impart some bitterness to recipes, however.  As you can see from 
this posting, I've been eating too many.
