As Gareth mentioned, a killing frost in areas of the North East. Did anyone else feel like the Titanic.....that sinking feel that you might be leaving a chile or mater as you try to pick the best ones while the others not mature enough are yelling pleadingly "pick me, pick me"??? I picked a lot of stuff and then covered the rest with heavy tarps and hoped for the best. We certainly got a heavy frost, only around 27 degrees this morning on the way to rock pile (read "wirk"). Tis the season but sad for sure. The carribeans put out a few but habs very immature. I did look kinda funny as I juggled several collendars full of stuff, stopping every few feet to pick those that overfloweth to the ground. ......nice weather coming the next 4 days or so tho'. Linda in Upstate NY ...with a table and surrounding flat kitchen surfaces covered in produce.
