--WebTV-Mail-27809-478 Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Alex, I don't know about others, but I first discovered habs in the summer of 93 and have been in love ever since. They were already being grown commercially (for eating), I think Jeff Campbell with Stonewall Chili Pepper Co. in Stonewall, TX may have been the first back in the 80's. No, sort of a light almond color to match the appliances. But maybe I should sprinkle in some hab powder to avoid getting any pesky barnacles in there. I emptied another shelf yesterday, and found a Womens Day from 1978 with Marie Osmond on the cover. Chilling. So far I think the oldest mag I've found is from January 1977. I don't know if any of us ever pinned down just when it was that hot peppers became trendy - maybe the very early 1990s? If I had the time, I could go through these back issues of Gourmet, Bon Appetit, and Food & Wine to find some article about how people are beginning to discover hot peppers. - A _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
