I can do fairish levels of heat but medium is as far as I'd care to go on their hot scale. Also, Taste of Thai in the Capitol City Shopping Centre - you have to convince them that you mean it when you order hot - else they give you "round eye" heat. In no event will they match the Magic Kitchen for heat. Some tasty grub, though. There is one called Siam Palace on South MacArthur near the Wabash curve (started life as a pizza joint then did a 20 year stint as Great Wall (Chinese)). I can recommend their Garlic Black Pepper (Beef, Pork or Chicken) as being delicious. Also their Thai curries are excellent. Two I haven't checked out - on Chatham Road where Leechee Gardens used to be is now a newish Thai place. The Korean place just up the road closed... for whatever reasons. Also on North Ninth at the site of the former Stevie's Latin Village and China Gate is a Thai place. I really must muster up the courage to fight off the memories of last time I was there as the China Gate.... shudder. Truly a /memorable/ dining experience.
