Hanging my head in shame. I don't get out much, and especialy not on that side of town. You really can't go wrong with Mexican restaurants here, if you stay away from the "chain" places, although Tio Leo's is acceptable. If he has a chance to get to The Gaslamp area downtown, The Bayou Bar and Grill is good. And, in Hillcrest, Kimo Sabe is excellent, although a bit pricey.
