TD> Isn't Huasteco a type of Serrano, referring to the region in which
TD> they were grown?
Yes indeed. That's what I discovered while surfing yesterday.
And *Hausteco* is the name of a virus that attacks chilies. I hit
several scholarly sites when I searched under that spelling.

Serrano Huasteco
This improved Mexican Serrano has longer fruits, a more uniform conical
shape, and thicker walls than ordinary Serrano cultivars. The 3 foot
tall plants have improved pod production, leaf cover and disease
resistance to PVY, TEV and PMV. The name Huasteco refers to the
indigenous people of important Serrano producing areas in Mexico. An all
purpose chile for heat lovers, Serrano Huasteco is not only fiery but
also very flavourful, and most popular in Mexico City's markets . 78-80
days..... Burpee Seeds
