>I haven't dealt with this indoors, though I do hear the soap approach is >a good one. But outdoors, I know something that works like a charm: >plant nasturtiums and/or morning glories nearby. Oh, not morning glories! Ack! Those are one of the most annoying persistant plants I've ever fought with. At the end of the world, only cockroaches and morning glories will survive. They grow so fast and twist arround everything you don't want them to - like other plants, doorknobs, your feet. And the twist tightly. Unless "nearby" is about a 1/4 mile away, I'd keep morning glories away. I've been fighting some crawling up the front of my house (rented) for 6 years now. And I know farmers who've lost considerable money due to morning glories. Bad, evil plants they are. I think I'd rather have aphids than morning glories - at least you can spray soap and various other things on them. Even concentrated roundup doesn't seem to bother MG's. Nasturtiums are OK, and edible, as Rain said. Oh, don't plant those chives unless they're in a container, either. They tend to take over your lawn (though it smells real nice when you mow them...).
