> Ron asked: > > What is the protocol on reproducing recipes from the post > to my website? The main issue is about copyrighted materials. A list of ingredients can not be copyrighted, however the directions for producing a dish, mixing the ingredients together and the cooking process can be and often is. To avoid any problems you can re-write the directions using the same ingredient list. Most cooks do what I do. I use most recipes as a starting point and adjust them to my taste. Some times just a little change other times removing many items and adding others. Then it becomes YOUR recipe. The simplest thing to do is just ask the person that produced the recipe (not always is it the poster) if you can post it on your site. 99.9% will be flattered that you asked and say yes. The whole reason to post them is to share your creation and/or brag a little about how good a cook you are. If anyone tell you NO, don't worry about it. Recipe pages are just about the most plentiful items on the web.
