Phllip Morris?   Gee, yeah, that helps.  :)

Look, I don't know if my plants are gonna get TMV from tobacco or not, or
what kind of tobacco, or from where.  I'm allergic to the stuff, so I
don't let people toss butts into\ my garden anyway.  But as long as
there's stlll debate about the safety of tobacco around peppers (and
there is;  claims to have killed the subject are clearly 
premature), I personally prefer not to chance it.   YMMV, and no offense
meant to anyone if it does.
