Thanks to Chip Welsh of Red Lion, his package of samples arrived at the hotluck site this weekend. He enclosed some chili mixes and some dry marinades, hot, medium, and mild. This week, I think, will see a lot of experimentation. I was happy to see a good price on pork loin roast this week, so I plan to get one, brine it, and smoke it before the event. I'm also preparing several other things - I need to know what people are going to bring, so I can try not to duplicate their efforts. Last weekend I was rubbing elbows with the Shawnee Hills civic association, and by way of introducing them to the school, I extended invitations to visit the hotluck on Saturday.
