Does anyone know if New Zealand Red Kaka Beak can survive the Winters
outside in New Jersey or should I grow them as a container plant? We do
get below 0F here and have months of freezing weather. I asked the
salesperson gardener in NZ, she said it would be OK, but later I realized
she was probably talking about 0C. 0C = 32F.

I'm fairly sure the Scrambled Egg Plant from Australia will survive here.
It's a form of Coreopsis and I've lots of bright yellow ones that reseed
themselves every year.

My habs flowered all Winter but did not set fruit. Two roccottos dried up
and died. Almost time to start the new chile seeds but I don't know where
I will put them all. My snowdrops are blooming on the front lawn. My
Lavender Provence is still green under the snow.

I found a large jar of pickled grape leaves I forgot about. Must be
hundreds in there. Chile dolmas, anyone?

Happy Mardi Gras,

Karen
