>A lot of people say they don't like the taste of jalapenos, or Tabasco, or >that mild peppers are evil, ok fine, that's your opinion, well here's my >next blasphemy: I think habaneros taste like feet, and nasty unclean >fungus-y feet at that. Their only saving grace is their heat. The flavor is >fine when used to augment or contrast other flavors, but by themselves >they're just plain nasty. I don't care much for Tabasco, either. Jalapenos are nice, but often over-used. I'm a big Serrano fan. You can always find them fairly cheap, they've got a good mix of flavor and heat, and go well with most anything. If I have a recipe calling for "green chiles" I'll invariably choose serranos the first time. But Habs don't taste bad. I don't really like them by themselves either, but I don't really like any pepper by itself. Habs go really well with other peppers, as well as sweet flavors. I especially like the flavor combinations of Habs and Mango (hence the mango habanero mustard sauce I make and love...) and Habs and cream cheese. >Let the stoning begin. :^) No one is to stone anyone until I blow this wistle. Not - and I want to make this abs-olutely clear - not even if he says "jehalapeno".
