I remember that gizmo. It probably has reversable griddle plates so you can
make waffles, too.
I don't think that's the sandwich toaster everybody's talking about. The
cheese would almost always run out onto the plates and burn.

Here's a couple of photos of the sandwich toaster that made the trip
from frosty eastern Canada to sunny SoCal when my wife migrated south
and west with her mom and dad in the 1950s...
