In the beginning I tried to keep them off with a toothpick gently scraping them off and squishing them between my fingers but now they outnumber me by a million. I remember a chile spray to fight them off but my saved e-mails don't show how to make it. PLEASE, can anybody repost the recipe to make the pepper spray to fight those buggers off? I would be forever grateful. I desperately need to kill these ^*#$@*# seedling killers. Miss Dewi PS. WHERE IS SPRING?!?!?!?!?!?!? Emily & Dewi (pronounced Davi), I use a spray my Grandpa has been using for longer than I have been alive. Here is the recipe for three (3) gallons: 1 pouch chewing tobacco soaked in hot water over night 1/2 cup dried hot peppers 1/2 cup dill seeds or whole dill 1 Tbsp. soap- not anti-bacterial, or anything fancy, JUST SOAP! Boil hot peppers & dill for 15 minutes+/-, add tobacco juice and cool. Strain well, and add soap. I make mine in concentrated form to total one gallon, and add water as needed. I have been using this on my seedlings since I first put them outside, and have yet to see one whitefly or other pest. This works well for Japanese beetles on roses too. For added insect control on my tomatoes and garden plants I add BT liquid to prevent caterpillar damage. I know it's overkill, but I lost my entire garden last year to various caterpillars...at least the chiles survived! Spring is here in Florida. We did have a cold snap last week though. It dropped into the 50's at night....brrrrr! Good gardening, and God Bless!
