Dan, Personally I'd say software for dealing with Chile recipes isn't OT! And thanks, as I mentioned in my private note asking for the recipes, the Buster program you mentioned converts Meal-Master to MasterCook, and simply converts text to MasterCook after fairly minor formatting. Easier to use than the MC Import Assistant under Win2000--it crashes the program. I'm assuming that you had a number of requests for your recipes, so this might be of interest to at least a few on the list. When I converted them from mealmaster to mastercook using Buster a few had errors on import. The errors turned out to be embedded form feeds, which kept the instructions from importing. Easily removed in Word by opening the converted file, in this case "chilehea.don" (.don is the output extension that Buster uses) as a text file, and searching for a "hard page break" ( ^m in Word search and replace) and replacing it (with nothing, or a space). In an ascii text editor the form feeds appear as a 'female' symbol, an "O" with a plus sign connected at the bottom. You can search and delete it, but not using MS edit in DOS. Thanks again, Riley PS If anyone wants Dan's list in Mastercook format let me know off list and I'll send it. > > The file is about 435k zipped. > > Let me know *off list* if you'd like a copy, and remember that > patience is a > virtue. > > -- Dan//who wonders if anyone recalls the time he tried this > stunt with Col. > Philpott's recipes... > > > >
