Riley Here is a little factor not included in Camerons school. In chiles as well as tomatoes there are 2 diseases; V wilt verticillium and F wilt Fusarium AKA the Chile wilt.. If you go to http://www.hort.uconn.edu/ipm/index.html On the left side scroll down to and click on "Index of Articles ++++, Then on the right pane scroll down to and click on "Vascular wilts of Tomatoes" Near the end of the thread you will note that the V wilt likes a soil pH of 6.5 and lower, The F wilt likes a soil pH of 7.5 and higher. So a very simple Duh, To avoid these wilts keep the soil pH between 6.5 and 7.5 L.B.
