<< Any ideas? Can chile plants be productive spaced 16" apart or is this just wishful thinking on my part? Any suggestions/feedback would be greatly appreciated. >> I always plant some Chiles in 5 gal. pots and they are very happy and productive. I use to only plant them in my raised beds, but the tomatoes took over. LOL So now I plant many in posts, sometimes even 2 or 3 in a pot and that way I drag them into the greenhouse to overwinter. I usually grow 40-60 peppers and many tomatoes. Last year I grew 37 heirloom tomatoes and 30 different chiles. This year it's topping off at 100 heirloom tomatoes and 40+ chiles. Need more space. Potted tomatoes and Chiles circle the pool as it's great heat and sun there. LOL Hubby thinks I am crazed.....hummmmmmm Mary-Anne, Moderator TomatoFanatics-subscribe@YahooGroups.com HeirloomGardening-subscribe@YahooGroups.com San Francisco Bay Area 25 miles East of SF USDA Zone 9b Sunset Zone 14/15 "Who plants the seed beneath the sod, and waits to see, believes in God."
