Yesterday I stopped at our neighborhood asian grocery store named CAM - Linda and I call it the Stinky Store because it really reeks of fish when you walk in. Linda gags so I go alone. I was browsing the sauces again, and found one with no english on the label except for a nutritional information label slapped over the existing label, to make it legal for sale here. I don't know if it's fully legal, since I still don't know who made it or where, or what is in it, or what it's called. It's very similar to the red pepper flakes in red oil that you might see in an asian restuarant, except it's almost all tightly packed peppers with some oil. The peppers have that roasted nutty flavor, but what makes this different from any similar product I've tried is the presence of toasted peanuts as well, almost like an instant kung pao. The flavor is great! I thought about giving this message the subject B*ARELY L*EGAL H*OT A*SIAN but then I thought, nah. I also got a little crock of "preserved vegetable" which I first tried more than ten years ago. Hmm, tastes like the same batch, sort of like someone decided to clean dirty socks by packing them with salt. It tastes so terrible that I can't help taking another fork full. According to the label, one tablespoon has 59% of the daily amount of sodium. - A _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
