After working in the garden all day Mary decided to make some turkey tacos while I took a shower. Now, we have a rub I make that we use for an all around spice. Since the inlaws came over on Mother's day I'd made a "wuss" batch up that didn't have Rev Jim's Smoked Savina in it. Put it in a big old plastic spice bottle and labeled it "Wonder Wuss Rub". Ok, so she's chopping and cooking and grabs my bottle of regular rub, thinks it's the wuss stuff and adds it to the turkey. Taste's it, know's it not hot and keeps adding it. Well, it was _real_ good. Kinda snuck up on you. Mary says it's hot and wonders why when she only use the wuss stuff? Well, when I asked her which bottle she used I pointed out the cool stuff was labeled wuss and the hot stuff wasn't. "Oh!" She says. (She's blonde--artificial at this point in her life, but so's blonde intelligence if you'll excuse the oxymoron.) So, it's hot but good; real hot but good. And I want to try the hab paste, so open it up and taste a spoonful. Eat some more taco. Mary try's some too. I consider myself a moderate to hot type. Mary's moderate, Calvin's powder on strawberries, that kinda thing. She goes for the yogurt and I go for a beer and another taco. Mind you, I'm starting to drip. It's good. It's hot! Yogurt doesn't help Mary. I had some buttermilk left over from some chicken I made the other night and suggest that. It helps. She's at the sink just standing with a glass of buttermilk and holding some in her mouth. I had another taco. Yummm. After my third the hab paste wears off and I'm just sweatin from the plain old turkey tacos. Mary finally joins me. I point out that if _I'd_ cooked that she'd raise hell with me but doesn't she the point. Oh well. The Yucateco Hab paste is good. It's hot, too. Haven't seen it here in the states yet, but will keep an eye out. Hot ciao! Riley
