The San Diego Southern California Hotluck is ON for June 9th, at our place. Festivities commence at 2:00 in the afternoon and will continue until everyone goes home, the neighbors complain or somebody passes out from eating something too hot. Feel free to arrive and depart whenever you need to, we'll be there all afternoon! We're providing plates, utensils, cook space (please let me know if you need the BBQ fired up), pots/pans, blowtorch, etc. We'll also have sodas, beer (the homebrewed Chipotle Ale is good this year, nice slow afterburn that just singes the palate without toasting it!), wine, water, milk and antacids. We'll also have our hotsauce collection out for those who want to sample. You'll bring: yourself and something spicy to share! If you bring the recipe, we can fire up the computer and get them posted to the chile-heads while we're online. There will be some vegetarians there, please put a note on your dish if it contains meat. This does NOT mean that everyone has to bring something vegetarian however! Directions are as follows: 8413 Menkar Rd. San Diego, CA (858)-536-8799 are directionally handicapped). Turn right on Camino Ruiz. About a mile up you'll reach the only stop sign (although you'll have passed several traffic lights). That's Aquarius. Turn right. The first street is Menkar, turn right. We're on the left, about 4 houses down. at the bottom of the exit, follow the road as it bends to the right and over the railroad tracks. Straight ahead, under the 805 freeway. Follow that road for about 5 miles. It makes a sharp right turn (it's pretty obvious when it turns) and you'll reach a stop sign. That's Aquarius, make a left. The first street is Menkar, turn right. We're on the left, about 4 houses down. instead and take the first exit after you split from I-5 (Sorrento Valley Rd/Mira Mesa Blvd). Turn right and go BACK about a mile to the second traffic light (the first traffic light is the onramp to the 805 north which is Sorrento Valley Rd. Turn right and follow the directions above from just after going under the 805 freeway. He's a 70+ lb. 3 yr. old Dalmation/Retriever mix. He's VERY friendly, particularly if you have food. We've been working at training him not to beg, but with that many people in the house, it's going to be difficult. If you're afraid of dogs, let me know and I'll make sure you get introduced nicely. He's not a mean dog, just a little bit big and rather exuberant...
