Chile Heads: I've been doing a lot of cooking from a wonderful cookbook devoted to the Abruzzo region of Italy. The book is called "Food & Memories of Abruzzo: Italy's Pastoral Land," by Anna Teresa Callen (See http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0025209159/o/qid=991249419/sr=2-1/104 -9919146-1787967 ). Having descended from a long line of Abruzzese on my father's side, I was raised eating this great food. The hot red chile that's used in many dishes from this region is referred to as a 'Diavoletto' (Little Devil). I've been trying to track down seeds for this variety, but have been at a loss to find any. I do believe it's a specific pepper, and not a generic Italian name for hot chile peppers. Does anyone on the list have any ideas where seeds for this pepper may be obtained, without having to make a trip to Italy? My first thought was to join the Seed Savers Exchange for another year, but I thought I'd see if any Chile Head members with a current SSE catalog would mind checking it for Diavoletto seeds. Thanks! Any other ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated. Islandman Vinalhaven Island, Maine USA islandman@islandman.com
