> > "I'm not a vegetarian because i love animals, i'm a vegetarian 'cos i hate > plants"... > > (wish i'd said that)... Me too :-) Hi All I must be very lucky as very little bothers my Chile plants. The odd cat (one in particular) but they soon run when they get a demo of my imitation of a Haka (Warrior War Challenge) The birds get most of my grapes and a lot of my strawberries. I forgive them because I like to see them and am too lazy to put netting over to keep them off. The only real solution in many commercial growers opinion. Luckily we do not have the rats with bushy tails here. Then I might have to change my easy going ways. Our possum and deer being classed as noxious pests tend to keep away from built up areas. Winter has arrived early with snow on the mountain 30 miles south of here. This is normally a one or two day event around August.. No frost here but the peppers are not putting much more fruit growth on.There are a few holes munched in the leaves of some of the plants. I have picked most of the Habeneros and the Rocotos are loaded with big green fruit which may not ripen. Starting to think of my winter escape to the US from the end of July until after Jims open fields. Then back to spring in NZ I know it's a tough life but I try to cope :-) Having never met Brad I cannot attest to his looks. but he would have to be mighty pretty to beat Tara who I spent a pleasant few hours with last time I was in Sydney.
