  Well, in my defense, he was wearing bb body armor (jeans).  And it was a bb gun
that probably couldn't even have broken the skin at point blank range, with the
single pump I gave it.  In my further defense, he had done something (don't
exactly recall) less than polite to one of our cats; and I was only a child
(8,10,12...?). I don't think he wound up with so much as a bruise, and it really
only served to turn his attention to me instead.  I'm certainly no animal rights
passionate protest person or some such, but I have been known to react with
temporary irrationality when confronted, face to face, with injustice.
